Where are you originally from and how did you get your name Rhyme Poetik?

Rhyme Poetik: Im originally from Angola but grew up in Portugal before moving to London.
Before I was an MC I used to write poetry so I chose Rhyme Poetik as a name I felt was related to what things I liked to do putting words together as rhymes and writing poetry.

How long have you been doing music & what have been your inspirations?

Rhyme Poetik: I’ve been doing music for a while but my first solo project was in 2011, before that I was part of a krew we some projects out also. My inspirations are things I see and experience, life feelings and emotions.

How would you describe your music?

Rhyme Poetik: I’d describe my music as sincere, music is a feeling its a vibration then it’s conscious with a lyrical content and a pitch of wavey vibes all included.

Whom were your idols coming up?

Rhyme Poetik: My idols are mainly from the golden era; Tupac, Wu Tang, Big Pun Canibus, AZ& Nas, Mob deep, I have a big list lol

We know you’ve been absent from the scene for a moment, do you mind discussing it? Was there any specific reason?

Rhyme Poetik: My last official project was in 2017 then I had another one ready to drop in 2020 but the studio I was recording at got robbed, yes robbed and everything got taken away computers speakers monitors you name it I had no back up files to my music so I lost it all.

What can we expect from you in the near future? Are you working on any upcoming projects?

Rhyme Poetik: I’m working on some projects in the near future, Fake is the new Real is my next one, and I’m also working on a joint album with an artist called Don Jaga, that project is about to be a movie, trust me.

If you had any advice to give to an upcoming artist, what would it be?

Rhyme Poetik: I’d advise up and coming artists to stay true to their nature, is easy to fall for anything and the industry is shady, so stay active, quality over quantity content and lawyer up to avoid 360 slavery deals with major labels, if independent stay grinding success may not come overnight but if it does its a blessing!
